Can't make p3free in DFU mode
Can't make p3free in DFU mode –
01-03-2011,04:28 AM
Hi everyone,
Today I received my p3free from volumerates.com, however, when I tried using P3FREE_Updater_V1.0.exe to update it, the device is not detectable ( can't make it in DFU mode). The program/verify button is still in gray. I had pressed the reset button many times but still no luck. Unplugged it and kept pressing reset button while plugged it into PC, still not detectable. I suspected mine is not upgradeable via USB.
Any other idea what I should try to make it upgradeable, please ?
Below is the look of my p3free.

Does it have a yellow sticker anywhere on it?

do you have installed the requirements in order to use the v1.0 updater?
( Microsoft .Net Framework V4.0 & Microsoft VC++ 2010)
can you try to use the updater from this thread http://psx-scene.com/forums/f179/lat...e-files-68517/
(attachement on first post, those updaters do not need those dependancies anymore)

i'm sure i have .NET Framework v4.0 and VC++ 2010 x86 installed, if not, the update won't run.
i also had tried the updater from the link you gave. Nothing is working.
Do you think the bootloader is corrupted ? When I pressed the reset button, the green led will flash for 2-3 seconds then dissapears.
i plugged the device into ps3, i could run ftp, gaia, etc. However, i couldn't run any games which was updated. It seems like the payload is old one not the latest one.
Anybody knows the p3free support's email, please ?
Anyway thx for the help.

I don't know the e-mail, but you could contact 'patrick'. If you search the p3free subforum, you will find him. I think he's the 'father' of p3free.
