There may never be an update that allows 3.5 to be jailbroken, it did take how many years before someone cracked the code for the ps3? Sony isn't playing around with this stuff. You'd be much better off selling that and getting one you know will work. I got a 3.41 with a 500gb internal hard drive on ebay for $300 shipped, maybe you should look into that. and try to get as much out of yours as you can if you really want to have a jailbroken ps3.
