thanks for that info modpro,so at moment only place to get these programmers are from patricks website(ic2005),they couldnt be purchased from any other source(ebay) or any place else,anyone have pics i might try and make up one myself,i have seen fpc sockets for sale on ebay,but only has six pins,ive seen on one thread that 2 of the pins are not used,would it be possible to buy programmer with icsp port and solder a fpc connection onto it,heres the one from ebay>

there are indeed only 6 pins in use of the fpc (has 8).
I took the fpc and soldered wires on it to connect it with the pinheader socket of the programmer (pic-pg2). I had to remap them correctly and it works.

thanks for all your help and sound advice,just wanted to know something,ive heard around the p3free forum people talking about bricking there p3frees,ive posted in a few threads about my p3free problems after upgrading from f1 to f2 now p3free is a dud,been told by patrick id have to burn f2 back to it for it to work,is there a chance it could be bricked

,is there a built in bootloader included with that f2 update or would i have to install a seperate one,im confused.com

,heres the programmer ive purchased from ebay,will it do the job?
