Of course it's possible. You just need to study up on video codecs, HTTP, and C++.

surely you could just create some kind of 'shortcut' app to open the browser and direct it to youtube then place that 'shortcut' under video in the same manner as however its done with showtime in much the same way as creating a shortcut on a pc?

theres not really any need to create a fully fledged youtube app

I think that was sort of the original question though I may be wrong on that and i personally wouldnt have a clue how to do it anyway, lol
