Xbox 360 controllers on the PS3
Xbox 360 controllers on the PS3 –
Now that the PS3 is fully jailbroken I'm wondering whether the following would theoretically be possible.
Can drivers be written for the "Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver" so that we can use the wireless Xbox 360 controllers on the PS3? Here's a picture of the device I'm talking about:
The device works as follows: you connect it via USB to you PC and then you can simply connect the Wireless Microsoft Xbox 360 controllers to it. So I figure that for it to work on the PS3 the windows drivers would have to be ported to the PS3 or the drivers would have to be rewritten.
If this is possible do you guys think anyone will be interested in actually doing it?
I know its not what you asked for but you can use a Cross battle adaptor and use a wired 360 conroller on a PS3.
I wonder if you plugged in a wireless gaming receiver into the cross battle adaptor if it would work
Look at my sig fellas.....

To the OP,the last time I checked, microsoft uses a proprietary wireless tech so its gonna be a little difficult to crack, not that it can't be done.
Some day somebody will find a way.Personal(big hands),I really like the 360 controller, some can argue all they want, its better than the sixxasis IMO,period.
FAT 500gig PS3 3.15(stashed)
SLIM 500gig PS3 3.41(current)
Hermes CFW 3.41
XMC cross Battle Apapter 2.0(wired 360 controller)
what's wrong with the PS3 controller?
I bought a cheap thing from DX that goes both ways - PS2 Controller on 360 & Wired 360 Controller on PS3.
I can confirm they both work to
I use my 360 controller for racing & FPS games.
Having said that I havent tried it on 3.55 when Sony stop a lot of third party controllers.
Too small and feels awkward at times, the analog sticks are also really loose.

The 360 has better stick placement, better triggers, and it doesn't feel like a cheap plastic that will break if i squeeze it too much.
well, a lot of USB peripherals got drop for 3.55 so somebody would have to patch it to add support for it.
Somebody would have to write a program that would read the input of the controller and then write the driver for it. Just like how the kinect got hack. After that add it to the 3.55 firmware.
Now this is my kinda thread
Now this is my kinda thread –
I been hoping that at some point we will be able to use 360 pads with the PS3 now that we have CFW working, wired pads though not wireless, since I know that wireless would be a bigger hassle.
That said I have not dared to ask, mainly cos I am afraid of seeming ignorant and too demanding in front of the more experienced users, also the fact is we have just now began to scratch the surface of the PS3 homebrew scene, heck although we have homebrew and CFW working for nearly all (if not all) typers of PS3 hardware, devs are working hard to iron any and all bugs out.
So I didnt think of asking at the moment because I am sure homebrew devs are busy right now just making sure they can get stable CFW and homebrew programs that wont brick a PS3, in time though I do hope that one or two would be kind enough to turn their attention to making 360 controllers work, also it would help so I wouldnt have to buy another Arcade stick if I wanna play beat em ups, those things are expensive and I already have an xbox arcade stick.
Arcade sticks aside I agree that ps3 pads feel unfortunately cheap and "toy-like" compared to the xbox, and those analogues sticks are just waaaaaaay to loose for my liking.
