New here, and I noticed that there are a few FTP servers which one can run on a jailbroken console, but why has no one developed a tool to access a network share whether it be through Samba/CIFS or even better NFS? Is there any reason a homebrew file manager that supports browsing network shares can't be created? (Or is there one already and I just don't know about it? )

I can't be the only person who wishes they could grab stuff easily off their NAS without having to run a sometimes buggy FTP server on my console?

I haven't tried playing with it as I was a bit confused with the config file

    Code:
    # NETWORK / PC HOST options
    # example: nethost*IP*PORT*Friendly name*

    #nethost*192.168.0.1*11222*My Games*
    #nethost*192.168.0.2*11222*My Music*
    #nethost*192.168.0.3*60806*NTFS USB HDD*
So I specify the IP and a friendly name along with a port, but not the protocol? Which protocol will this thing attempt to use? (Multiman)

It has it's own pc host application that you got to run on your computer. I'm betting it's just an over glorified FTP server in all reality.

Hmmm, maybe I can write something to access samba or NFS shares. Busy with work atm, but maybe after the New Year if no one else jumps on this. Would be a much nicer solution than most of the existing stuff I've seen thus far.
