Two rather simple questions about the PS3

Hey, I have been a long time user of the PS brand, and I consider the PS2 to be the greatest console ever made, so you can imagine my reaction roughly two years ago when my ps3 abruptly stopped playing games, DVD's work fine, but anything blu-ray based wont pop up in the x-media bar, I had hoped for a 4.1 jailbreak so I could back up games to the harddrive and play them there, leaving my fickle laser to die unused but this hasn't yet been made reality,so my question is this, does anyone know why the cfw is taking so long,and what I can do to play my precious black doorstop in the meantime, my wii currently gets more use since I modded it, and I want to enjoy this console before it is eclipsed by its successor, also if there is no CFW currently available than explain the billions of sites like crack gift why the hell do they keep popping up

Why do people find it hard to be leave you cant jailbreak your PS3 if your over FW 3.55 ? Its not hard to work out why sites like crack gift say there is, there scam sites trying to get you to do surveys and other crap.

To downgrade requires hardware like E3 Flasher to do, there is not a software downgrade for 3.56+ firmware.

As has been said many many times. Downgrade to 3.55 to install any CFW.

It's taking so long because nobody has the trillion super computers needed to brute force crack ECDSA. Look, there is no soft mod for the 360, and it's been out for seven years. The situation is now the same with the PS3, there will never be a soft mod again for it.
