Tutorial: Program PIC18F2550 with art2003
BTW this is my first time posting a tutorial so if there is anything wrong here let me know and I will fix it ASAP.
The most important point will be........
1.setting the LPT port so ECP (I am missing this step, it waste me about 2 day to figure it out why my art2003 not work)
2.I think we need detect the chip before flash, if it detect as unknown , then i don't think it will be complete other task
Why use MCLRE? it causes another resistor to be added for no reason. just select lvp only....
I have built art2003 three times from scratch but still i can't program my 18f2550. I tried two different pics and set LTP port to ECP mode with DMA 3 and 1 but no luck. I'm using win7 and winpic800 at 98 mode(because of wp800io.sys error) What am i doing wrong? Any suggestions?
This is what i have now
I'm starting to lose my mind.

make sure ur serial cable is a pin to pin not a cross 1
afaik winpic800 and win7 are troublesome????
i think the dlportio drivers provided by winpic arent win7 compatible
someone correct me if im wrong though
Despite being able to programme for number of years this particular problem with winpic made me virtually bang my head.

This particular problem kept me trying to understand whats wrong with my code or hardware, till I deiced to use it on a XP computer, where it worked flawlessly.
Illness you are absolutely correct winpic has issues with win7.
