I did just play NFS using Hermes v4b (no spoof) and played like 5 races without an issue.
Hey I have a few questions on how to use this ti 84 software and the payloads.
If this is not the correct forum section to ask then could someone please point me in the right direction.
First off, I used the KakaRoto PL3 (2.43 - 3.41) 12-28-2010 and Rogero manager to try to copy a game. I decided on kakaRoto's payload after reading a post on how in his/her opinion, Hermes doesn't seem to know what he/she is doing. However, using the latest KakaRoto Payload, the backing up of games did not seem to work as I assume that apart from the (old version) there is no backup support for Kakaroto releases.
So I tried the EvilSperm Hermes (3.41) 11-19-2010 release next and it seems to be able to back up games correctly and is recognised by Rogero Manger.
Now my questions are what is the best or most reliable payload here in this forums opinion? From reading on this forum as well as others I understand that each payload does different things like ps2 support and home-brew etc. I would only like a reliable game copying payload that perhaps has patching support.
My next question is with Brandon's ti 84 calculator software I can seem to get both payloads working with the tapping the eject button quickly method to recognise the calculator. However, installing the hook dose not seem to do anything for me. I assume that I must be doing something wrong but I have followed the included read me with Brandon's download to the letter. Is there someway to go about installing the hook that could work?
Best/Most reliable payload for jsut backing up games to internal/external drives?
How to get Brandon's ti 84 hook working correctly so it can automatically run payloads on boot?

as for the hook, i dont like it that much, it is kind of buggy(especially if batteries are a little low). but once it is installed you do not need to mess with the calculator at all, just leave it off(it will still work if it is on). when you go to jb(power cycle first, of course) the calc should auto turn on and all you will see is a blinking cursor. should work fine most of the time.
I have pretty much done everything you said but I wasn't aware that you have to (replace xxx with your fw version). I know it seem obvious now but i swear I didn't have to replace the evilsperm one and it worked...
Thanks for the help though, I'll try it all again soon.
Ok, I just re downloaded and noticed that the latest kakaroto files are already sorted by fw type and I used 3.41, the one that matches my firmware.
Anyway rogero recognises the payload as it says what payload is running at the bottom. The payload must work to some degree otherwise the rogero manager would not start at all. However game copying does still not seem to work for me with the kakaroto payload, but it does with the evilsperm payload. As for the hook, the cursor thing pops up like you said on my calculator and it flashes randomly indicating it is doing something but once the ps3 has booted I can not enter the manger with either payload via the hook method. The calculator log doesn't seem to indicate anything that I can understand either.
no new jb method, we have signing keys. custom firmware is in development. with that we do not need jailbreak at all everything will just work. but that is beyond the scope of this thread.
Here is a link to all the payloads, including the pl3 3.55, but it is in hex or isn't that a

1.How come I don't see patched mode with the latest Kakaroto PL3 NU payload?
2.I copied GT5 from external to internal HDD but the files are still split. Is this an issue and if so how how come it didn't merge the files?
