You will have to activate the exploit (Section V) every time you turn off your PS3. I have no explanation as to why it worked for you after you restarted the PS3- it shouldn't have.

it didnt i was wrong. Just so much time backing up games i thought it had turned off.

anyone know if im able to use the calculator pc emulator to essentially run the exploit and jailbreak a ps3? ie, i dont have the 84 calc :( :(

Yeah but I mean which version is used in the attached file here? :)

so the external must be fat32. do games play well off externals or I'm guessing internals are much faster (slightly?)

Do ps2 games work on this (a non ps2 game playing ps3)?

Will the ps3 update automatically to 3.42 or does it require my approval? I usually have it plugged in with an ethernet so I don't know how that works. It's been quite some time since I've updated anything on it myself.

It will ask you if you want to update, just to be safe turn off automatic updates in your PS3 settings.

The one attached here is PSGroove 1.1 and a modified version Brandon Wilson's v. 0.02.0001 with backup manager enabled.

Also, can you cross region code? I'm assuming NTSC ps3 must only use ntsc discs. Can an american bought NTSC ps3 play PAL backups?
