There is a problem with it, the 3.15 4g grey, it does not boot. And no, I believe what we are talking about is hermes V3 for 3.15 grey, not the new PL3, at least that is what I am talking about. Thought you should know before you include it in your program danyL. I posted a full report over on crashs thread. I will be up a little bit longer then bed, but I have the day off if need be to test another out to make sure it actually works.
You apperntely uploaded all the .rockbox folder, while we need only the rockbox.ipod\rockbox.im4 files only.
If they all reported as working I'll remove all the unneeded files.
I just tested it with 3.41 (ipod video) and it's working as it should.
Are you sure you using the right file?
iPod 4G Grayscale Hermes v3 - 3.15
And of course I'll have to wait for a confirmation that it's working.
Yes, I am sure. I am probably twice some of you guys age here. I have been using computers and command line for a long time, just never really compiled, and I'm new to relatively new to linux. I know my way around files I reported in full over on his thread, but I downloaded the zip multiple times to be sure (the zip file is marked in full clearly so I was already sure) its absolutely the right file, here is a copy and paste of its name from my directory PSGroove Hermes V3 ipod_4G_Grayscale FW 315 - CrashSerious.zip I just replaced the rockbox.ipod in my psgroove folder on the root like I have been with yours. Eventually I just put your rockbox, ipod in the rockbox folder and his in the psgroove folder so I could easily switch back and forth. Yours boots fine with the options after the 5-7 second pause while PS3 waits for code, his waits and then you see a brief flash, then the screen just stays black. Its not working, I tried MANY times. You say we need rockbox.im4. Do I need to add this file somewhere? I never did this with yours, with yours I had my rockbox already in there with IPL loader. I just added the edited config for ipl so I have PSGroove in the loader and I dropped your rockbox.ipod in the corresponding folder on the root. I hope I haven't missed something here?

Ha! I grew up with Dos and Basic, then Windows came and I got all lazy. When I was a kid, linux was NOT what it is now. Just in the last year and a half been working with linux a bit at at time with otherOS, regaining the joys of control over my computer. Good for you, keep it up! I'll probably go to bed here soon, so Ill check the thread after I wake and report back later. Hopefully going to try to setup the VMware environment over on my windows machine so I can try my hand at building PL3 on my own today as well. Never enough time when you have to go to work and pay the bills...
Belive me that I do know the history of Linux, GNU and the most known GNU-Linux.
I joined to linux when there were a very big problems with ATI, and was fighting to get beryl (or in it new name "compiz") to work as it should.
I also worked a little with debian and gento, and was one of the beta testers of UE 2.6.
Anyway, I'm git cloning the new waninkoko's PL3 while I'm eating..
Crash said something about PL3 being broken now for 3.15. I'm guessing the new offsets for mathiulh instructions probably need to be altered for 3.15 so not sure if they fixed that or what the deal is. Haven't really looked into it yet. I'll look at the git later, if not I have a git clone from before the alteration that should work for me to test compile. Good luck.
Yup, It did was broken.
But this is what the new version fix.
Cool Well Ill check the threads when I wake up and will be able to test both versions if they are up and report back, no rush. Time to hit the sack though.
It's compiling right now.
