What i have to do to get the Open Manager 1.16 to work ? just download on USB Stick and install package from there ?
sorry for the damn annoying questions, but i am totally new to this... my ipod mini 1g have to arrive today ... because my iphone 3gs and 4 have no Ps3 JB Support till now :P
i read many about the Ps3 JB and later i wanna give it a try, so i want do everything right ^^
Thanks alot fl0PPsy. I grabbed those tools on my Linux machine. I also gitcloned shuffle2s repository. As I understand I need to run the VMware on a win machine. My only winmachine is not capable of going online atm. So I have all this to copy over and install on the win machine. I think I understand now how to build plain old rockbox. I have looked at a bunch of shuffle2s source files, and I know that psgroove_descriptors.h is where all the references are to different firmware. I found a notation in there that says to modify config.h from firmware_3_41 to firmware_3_15 but there are no references to 3_41, 3_15, or even 3.41 or 3.15 so.... Huh? It kind of looks like when descriptors.h gets triggered it will produce payloads for all firmware? So will it create default_payload_3_15 in this process and then the terminal window prompt me at some point whether to use default_payload_3_15.h or another? Basically my question is how am I going to be defining what firmware it needs to spit this out for? I know it will prompt me to pick my device to compile for from documentation on compiling regular rockbox. But can someone please help point me in the right direction of what I need to be changing or adding in here, and where/when, to end up with a 3.15 rockbox.ipod compiled for my 4g greyscale? I really want to figure this out now and know what I'm doing both for the knowledge, and for personal satisfaction and to not have to rely on somebody else. Also, I do not need to grab the rockbox svn as I have the shuffle2 gitcode which basically is rockbox just altered, correct? Again, I am aware I cannot apply 3.41 patches like for hermes etc. Right now I am more interested in homebrew anyway so PL3 as I understand will do for the moment. Thanks and sorry for the questions, I have figured out everything I can, but I need help filling in the gaps. I'm exhausted I'm going to go to sleep now, if someone could help fill in the gaps, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you slok!
For the those who v3 didn't helped them,
Can you try using the recent releases of Backup Manager\Open Manager?
Since I personally doesn't have the problematic games to test on.
i got formula 1 2010 to work using patch mode
but to do it you need the game on external hdd... then you need change to OPMG1234 or whatever the address is then COPY GAME TO INTERNAL
then it works...
From what I understand, you should first compile PL3 and then compile RockBox.
I'm installing the PS3ToolChain right now and will try it myself.
With Hermes v3 payload you should be able to run backups without "patch mode".
If it doesn't work then the payload is not working as it should.
Please report my if it works using the recent releases of Backup Manager\Open Manager.
I just tried F1 2010 with Sexy Manager r2 (no patch mode) and the game loaded but it could not find the controller which indicates that Hermes V3 wasnt working.
I've also tested OM 1.16 now and F1 2010 also doesnt work unless you turn patched mode on indicating that the HermesV3 payload is not working.
