Question about Sports champions and the PS Eye
Question about Sports champions and the PS Eye –
So im using Hermes V1 payload, and i have tried with both BM2, and Open manager 1.13 and still get the same results.
Im curious if when any of you play this game, when you get to the camrea portion where you can see yourself, is the picture clear? or do you get what looks like a bunch of bright pixles. I can still see myself and the game seems to calibrate ok but i just need to know if my camera is broke in some way, or if it has to do with the game loader \ payload combination messing this up.
If it helps, i have got drivers on my PC for win7 and have tested the camera on this PC and i do not get the same bright pixles that i get on the ps3.
If anyone has thoughts or suggestions please let me know becuase im considering taking this back and exchanging it for a new one, even though it makes no sense that it would be clear on the PC, and weird on the PS3.
I had this problem once, and found it was to do with the usb ports and when you plug the camera in. I found that if I plug the camera in at the dash before booting the game it worked well, however if I plug the camera in once I have started the game it goes all funny as you described.
thanks for the response. Unfortunately it doesnt seem to matter for me as i leave it plugged in and have tried i think at least 2 of the usb ports. Its like background noise ( Visually ) but in bright colors. like when you used to turn a tv on to a channel not working you get that black and white Noise all over the screeen. I am going back to exchange this device just incase today. I hope there is just something wrong with the cam and NOT the playstation. Ugh
have you tried to have the camera unplugged until you are at the dev dash and then plugging it in before you go into bm to load the game?
It is something to do with the way the hack interacts with the usb ports on the ps3, I'm sure of it. Mine did exactly what you are describing, I fixed it by going back to the xmb and unplugging the cam and then replugging it in and rebooting the game.
It may save you a trip, if it doesn't work try another way of plugging the cam in.
I have a slim and only have two ports. I have to unplug all devices at boot or the hack doesn't work (minimus avr).
Works totally fine for me, never seen any issues with it at all. I don't need to unplug it to boot either, it just works.
Using a Minimus with hermes v1 and OM 1.0 in a 320Gb slim.
So does mine, all but one occassion.

wondering if that should matteR? Im about to try Eyepet now to see if the camera still does the same.
Also worth noting i have unplugged the cam during the game several times, all with the same result.
to update, i got a new camera, no difference so it must be the payload i am using or the actual chip to do it. Or some issue with the original 60 gig ps3
I suppose you already tried other USB ports? The 60gb has 4 of them right?
indeed, I have tried it in all 4. Unplugged during and before game start, tried leaving it out during ps3 power on. IM wondering if its this ps3 unit itself, but i would figure its an all or nothing kind of thing. I have no camera game to test this camera normally and i dont think you can do a cam test from the ps3 desktop or if you can anyone please let me know. I would try it on my roomates machine but he doesnt have it jailbroke and he updated too far. I could try a regular free app off PSstore on his machine but again, its a different machine so if it works, all that tels me is the cam itself is working fine which doesnt help =/
