PSN games on JB PS3

So as I understand it it is not yet possible to play full PSN games on my JB PS3 (although I read about patching some demo versions of games).

I was wondering if it is possbile for me to gon online on PSN without the jailbreak device active on my PS3, buy a full game PSN (specifically I´d really like to play "Tales of Monkey Island") and then play it afterwards in either normal or JB mode?
Or does PSN require me to update from 3.41 in order to buy games?

Or any other method that I don´t know of?

PSN requires you to update to the latest firmware version.
