PS3Ultimate TV App

This is my PS3Ultimate TV homebrew application for the ps3 its quite simple all you do is replace your category_tv.xml or category_video.xml depending on which category you want it under you can do this manually or you can do it through multiman by getting the PS3~dev_blind~vsh~resource~explore~xmb.zip file ive included below and copy it to a usb stick or ftp it to your ps3 then by using mmOS and selecting the zip file to install it once this is done you can install the pkg file and your done, From then on all you will need to do is download and install the ps3ultimate tv update pkg file the easiest way to do that is through the app itself under Info.

Once everything is up and running if a new update comes out you dont need to replace the xml file again you only need to install the pkg and maybe reset your xmb by loading an app up then closing it but you will only need to do this once also to use this app to its full potential you may once everything is up and running want to install my "PS3Ultimate TV Video & Music Bypass" file through multiman the same way you installed the category_tv or video xml this will allow you to upload your music and video collection you have on your ps3 to your pc or possibly to the internet depending on what you want to use it for, check HFS Info below for more information and the files you will need.

Updated PS3Ultimate TV to v1.09:

with 1.09 ive updated most of the app from the themes to the movie links and movies ive also added a links section to tidy the main section up ive also added new content including ps3 xil for those who want to use it to add custom channels and tidy up the ps3's main xmb or if your cfw has removed them then they should be available again ive also changed the update to a direct link but most of my time and effort has been focused on the movies section i decided to release this update a little sooner than i was going to so remember im working on this everyday so keep checking for updates but remember it can be a slow process and im working alone so please be patient and if you have just installed this update remember to also download and install a theme so everything is upto date.

HFS Info:

HFS aka HFS HTTP File Server will give you the ability to copy files to your ps3 and stream videos directly to your ps3 it also can be used for much more than this but
this is what i use it for also with the modification i have made you will be able to upload videos you have on your ps3 to your pc.

i have set everything up for you it should be a simple matter of loading HFS up and adding your files to it you will also need to create a Upload folder on your pc
and drag it over onto HFS and right click the folder and set it up as a upload directory so you can upload pictures and with my mod videos from your ps3 to your
pc.

ive set the HFS website up as localhost if this doesnt work change localhost to your pc's ip address for example change localhost to 192.168.0.2 and everything should
work perfectly to make it easier for you to change the ip address ive set it up so it reads the website address from the root of your ps3's hdd so please put the hfs.xml
in the root of your ps3's hdd so basically it should be put in /dev_hdd0/ this will allow you to easily remember were it is if you need to change the ip address.

the PS3Ultimate TV Video & Music Bypass contains the PS3~dev_blind~vsh~resource~explore~xmb.zip which you install using multiman this will allow you to upload your music & videos from your ps3 to your pc.

Thanks RazorX, but for me it did not result

I replace "category_tv.xml" successfully, did restart then installed the pkg, did restart again, and did not show up "TV section".
I never had "TV section"
I'm on Rebug 3.55.2 with last update and tested this on "Rebug Mode" with "XMB Retail" and "XMB Debug" and "Normal Mode" and not worked

this will not add the tv category only a tv section on the tv category i would suggest you install cfw which has the tv category activated

once installing this you can try activating the tv category by temporarily installing something like netflix or activating it in xRegistory.sys or both to get the tv category on

it only requires you to replace the category_tv.xml and the changes i made to this file is small i made it so it is super safe and easy to use but i suppose if you want you could back it up but theres no need, once done it will simply show up and be ready to use.

For those interested the installation of the "now TV" enable TV on XMB
And better yet, the uninstallation disable TV from XMB
