No unfortunately I am just a common hourly wage worker but I think if we could get a good list of how many people's ps3's have been bricked right after an update maybe Sony wouldn't keep feeding us the b.s. about how its the hardware and has nothing to do with the update...hopefully there will be more responders to the poll and more description of other people's bricking issues and please tell us what model ur ps3 is if it was or wasn't bricked by this recent update

The update didn't brick your PS3. If it did you would be reading about it on the frontpage of every tech site ever, not just making a poll on a single ps3 "scene" site.

Well maybe its not a wide spread everybody's ps3 is bricked thing and I never said that it was but something with that update definitely screwed my machine up
..this poll is just to see if anybody else is having this issue with the older ps3's...if u look over on the official Sony website there are some people having the same problem so if anyone did experience a problem it would be nice to know and if u didn't it would be nice to know too and what model u updated with no problems.

THIS IS ONLY ABOUT STOCK UNMODDED PS3'S. NO HACKING BRICK SITUATIONS ANSWER THE POLL

With EVERY update a few older machines brick. It has always been like this. Machines get old and they die.
STOP! Before you ask questions... READ the first post! RTFFP = Read The F*cking First Post
Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

yes this is true but I believe it was an HDD upgrade problem with 3.56 OFW, hence the release of 3.56v2, and Phony says it's not their problem. Now that is B.S.

That is true, that happened to my buddy and when he called, they wanted him to pay for the fix, bunch of assholes, now hes so mad, that he decided to do what is not allowed for us to talk bout it here, if you know what i mean.

Tho i used to do it, i dont anymore, but i must say that i dont blame him one bit, thats no way to treat a customer whos been loyal to you from day 1.

I just told him to be careful, never know what sites they'll be monitoring for piracy, specially now that they are all over.

So yeah, it was a slim 120 that he upgraded his hdd to 500GB.

Any update has the potential to brick be it OFW or CFW, anyone telling you its 100% safe is talking crap.
Make sure you butter the non reflective side of your CD's / DVD's and Blu-Rays so that when you drop them, they land butter side down thus preventing scratches.
