ps3 speed dongle

i have got a ps3 speed usb, i want a pl3 hex for it, i cant find any? has any body got any or can anybody make me one please? the website i -PS3SPEED.com,PS3 speed,PS3,PS3 dongle , thats the dongle website,its got source code to download
from that site and stuff but i dont understand it like how to compile hex's etc , can anybody please help meee

To be honest, a lot of people say Hermes v4b is more compatiable with games anyways... and from what I understand, you need Linux to compile HEX files.

What backup manager is PL3 only? I have multiman, open manger 2.1I-2, Backup manager, gaia, rogero, open manager 1.7.2, and backup manager v2 and all work just fine with hermes payload. That is all the managers I know of except the ones made by the dongle team like the ps3key and ps jailbreak and they are based off syscall36 (same one as hermes) and work as well as the they can.

Anyhow to answer your question you can't put PL3 on that dongle. While is uses hex files it still has an encrypted bootloader and until the team either releases their version of PL3 or implement the use any hex feature that is so common now days you are stuck with Hermes. I got one of these as I thought they were cool as I could plug a hdd directly into the dongle negating the need to plug it back in but I had the same problem as you. I couldn't freely update it so in the end I got one of those hubs that attach to the front of the slim that allows for the hdd and dongle to be plugged in at once so long as they are sharing the same shared port and gave the PS3 Speed away. Sorry hope they update or get a new payload. Besides hermes has the best compatibility and direct boot and patch mode actually work. You can even play some 3.50 and all 3.42 games with the normal payload of your device. Youjust need to change software and adjust or shell out a few bucks and get a dongle that supports any payload. Most that do this even have downgrading as an option so you can snag somePSN content for a little while.

Ok, I grabbed the source from there website, changed the port1 config with PL3 descriptor like is says to do and built with WinAVR, again like it says.

I make no guarantee it works or that it wont break your dongle, I cant test it as I don't have one. It seems to use the ATMEGA168 and runs the timwu psgroove port.

Still as others have stated, there is nothing wrong with hermes payload and thats what I also use, it does seem more stable for some things.

PS3 Usb Jailbreak (AT64s) here, working with the latest psgroove PL3 Hex ( as of 11th December ) compiled by me for the PL3 default_payload, i used the OpenKubus hex with ps3usbjailbreak program feature to program the dongle from any hex -> PS3 Usb Jailbreak

PS3Speed hasn't been updating the payload on their website. So I just took some time to compile it myself.

I used the code from Hermes v4b PSN Payload - Spoof PS3 Firmware 3.41 to 3.50 Final - PS3 NEWS - PlayStation 3 News - PS3 Hacks and All Boards PL3/Hermes 4B with v3.55 Spoof - PSX PS2 PS3 Scene Modchip & Jailbreak Community to create the port1_config_descriptor.h

I then replace the port1_config_descriptor.h in the PS3SPEED firmware Source Code-PS3SPEED.com,PS3 speed,PS3,PS3 dongle and compile it.

I own a PS3SPEED myself and it works on my PS3 FAT.
