PS3 is backward compatible in Factory/Service mode?
PS3 is backward compatible in Factory/Service mode? –

Hi
When I was doing downgrade I decided to poke around in this mode and I've observed one thing in Factory/Service mode.
The disk of PS2 game is recognized correctly, we can run it, but console is returning to XMB. Is this means, that in some way we can run PS2 games?
Regards
P.S: I have just two PS2 Disks, It's The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers, and Swap Magic 3.3, and there are strongly scratched. When I run it, PS3 says, that the game is not compatible, "see more at playstation.com"
I HAVE 40GB UNIT

Playing PS2 games has to be fixed via the payload or backup managers. Currently, I believe we're not pointing the mount point to the proper location so the disk is recognized. Then again, you'd still need a BC console anyway.

Being recognized doesn't mean you can play it.
No it does not work if your ps3 has no Software Emultion and/or Hardware Emulation.
