Admittedly my knowledge of the PS3 architecture leaves a little to be desired, but I'm curious if anyone knows if the recent discoveries by fail0verflow will allow us to use the PS3's built in PS1 software emulator.

As much as I appreciate ps3sx, the odds of getting the sort of compatibility and speed out of it that already exist in Sony's built-in PS1 emulation are pretty low. Just curious if we will potentially be able to sign PS1 backups to load with Sony's PS1 emulator in the future, as this would be a great addition to the homebrew scene.

I would imagine if a CFW (custom Firmware) where to come out that removed the signing checks then it would apply to PS1 , PS2 (where available) and PS3, if not I suspect this leaves everything open much in the same way the PSP PS1 emulator was used for stuff not avalable from PSN
Make sure you butter the non reflective side of your CD's / DVD's and Blu-Rays so that when you drop them, they land butter side down thus preventing scratches.
