Problems getting rejoined file (split into 1GB parts) to work
Problems getting rejoined file (split into 1GB parts) to work –
Hi all. I recently downloaded a PS3 game (Sora no Kiseki SC Kai) but one of the data files in it is a PKG file which is 4.04 GB - juuuuust a little too large for the FAT32 system to handle.
After Googling I got Karmian's excellent PS Splitter and split the file. Using Multiman, the file rejoins fine in the internal HDD, but when I try to run the
.PKG file, it seems to enter the Hex Editing mode instead (I get a whole screen of numbers on a black background, looks very Matrix-like)
I put the combined .PKG file, as well as all the game folders in the /PKG and /packages folders, but I get the same result everytime.
Can anyone help?
Is the game a disc game because if it is you wont need to install the pkg file you just need to run the game and it will do what it needs to. If you do need to install the pkg file what firmware are you on and what version of Multiman are you running, also when you see the pkg file in MM what icon does it hav on the left of the file name, if it's a yellow star then pressing x on it twice should prompt you to exit MM to install it. I know it's alot of questions but there's alot of variables
If you are on Rebug you can FTP the pkg to the pkg directory on the internal drive and install from there.
I'm having to install the .PKG file because it's too big to fit on the external HDD, if not I would just copy the game over. To be exact, the game itself is 5.6 GB but there is a .PKG file inside which is 4.04 Gb.
I'm running Multiman 4.2. The problem is that the .PKG file doesn't even show up in the "Install Package Files" window.
Since I'm on MM and not Rebug, I'd rather not switch unless I absolutely have to, being quite used to MM and all.
Multiman is your backup manager. Rebug is a custom firmware. What firmware are you running?
