New To PS3... Came from 360... Knew how to flash that DVD drive.... Don't know PS...... –
So I am looking to accomplish this... I am an avid movie watcher. And from that, disks get worn out. As well, I like to stream media, instead of using native disks. This cannot be done with Cinivia and the new 3.73 firmware.
Is there a payload that I can boot to(off of a usb) that I can have the Showtime player loaded on to? That way, I can boot to said firmware/homebrew when I want to media it up... But boot to regular OFW to play on the PSN....????
I am very interested in all this jailbreaking stuff... But do not want to run the risk of making my machine a paperweight. I am also aware that since I am on 3.73 it will be more difficult. I have just never worked with PS stuff before
Thanks in advance!
Now you cannot hack your PS3 after 3.55 as Sony have fixed the "exploit" nor can you hack the Blueray drive as Sony are not stupid XD now I have done some research for you and their is a way you can stream music, videos and pictures even MKV format which the PS3 does not support. The program is called 'PS3 Media Center' now what this handy program will do is auto detect your PS3 and allow the PS3 to access all of your computer. However the more handy thing is, if you want to watch a movie that is MKV format. it wont work if you copy it to your ps3..... BUT PS3 Media Center will re render the video for the PS3 to understand . Oh one more thing, unlike Xbox discs the PS3 discs does not get worn out as the protective coating helps the disc stay fresh . Hope this helps and enjoy your PS3..... and free online XD
Does this PS3 Media Center go on my PC or something? It will prevent the Cinivia from coming up since I am storing all my disk library on a drive?
