Need help with backup manager
Need help with backup manager –
Hi guys, I've been reading around the forums for a while now but never really had an account :P but recently jailbroke my PS3 with TI84.
The problem I'm having right now is that my NBA 2k10 backup isn't working.
I used my own NBA 2K10 disc and backed up without any issues. After backing up, I rebooted, rejailbroke, and went into Backup Manager. I proceeded to click load for NBA 2k10 and then tried to load the blu-ray that shows up (shows NBA 2K10 as the title). The PS3 then stops moving. It stays on my wallpaper (without XMB icons).
I have checked the compatibility lists at https://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?k...w&toomany=true and http://www.ps3news.com/subdomain.php...rentpage=7&s=7 .
Both list NBA 2K10 as compatible with both internal and external. I am currently using it on internal and have no idea how to use it on external (as far as backing up my game on an external drive).
I have tried the original backup manager, the stealth, and backup manager 2. All 3 are having issues with NBA 2K10 and I have backed up NBA 2K10 multiple times, same result. However, I was able to load DBZ Burst Limit with all 3. Is there something wrong with the disc, or does it have something to do with the file size? NBA 2K10 DID take a lot longer than Burst Limit to backup.
After trying to back up a different game (Initial D), I noticed that the NBA 2K10 backup process went from 0 to 42% instantly (top bar), while Initial D actually went through 10, 15, 20, etc etc. Could this possibly be an issue? If so does anyone know what's wrong and how to resolve this?
EDIT: Initial D works too. Burst Limit and Initial D working, so it's definitely something with NBA 2K10.. anyone know how I can get it working?
In addition to this issue, I am wondering how I would run a backup through external hard drive. I have ISO files for the games.. but from watching the backup progress in Backup Manager, I am assuming it shouldn't be in ISO form.. not to mention the fact that FAT32 won't allow me to put the entire 9GB ISO into the external hard drive..
I tried using MagicIso to extract the ISO but when I put the folders into my external hard drive and try to run them, I'm getting the error that says eboot.bin is not valid.
This is the path to the game on my external drive:
Ext Drive (H):\GAMEZ\GTAIV\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\eboot.bin
I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Thank you in advance!

I don't have NBA 2k10, but why don't you try to back it up with the ftp program, or back it up directly to the external, or have you already tried that?
Also, maybe disable your internet and try to load it again first before you backup again, because I've had that work with a couple of games not working.
Delete any updates the game may have installed in your "Game Data" folder too.
It could also be your JB method if you have tried various backup managers.
Don't know what else to suggest.
How would I find the game data folder? Is it the game utility data? Would I be able to back it up for later use? There have been multiple patches that I have had to apply to the game for roster updates and glitches..
Have you tried to deleted updates? I remember, at the start of the jailbreaking scene, that deleting updates/save games would make the games playable.
As previously mentioned, I don't know where the updates are placed in the directories. Also, I wanted to know if I would be able to replace those files easily since I'd no longer be able to download the patches afterwards...
