Media Player homebrew for PS3?

The ps3 consoles hardware have much to offer and im surprised that at this hour there is no mediaplayer homebreew aplication for the ps3. It would be nice to have a media player aplication that suports al sort of popular media files including .mkv's and subtitle file. Why no one programed one yet?

so lets get started... the first stable release will be in about 30minutes cause its really reallly easy to code an homebrew media player with all codecs supported...

And here it is an awsome reply. No one said that is easy to program for the ps3 but seeing that on homebreew scene there allready are emulators and a feew homebrew games, a bunch of backup managers and payloads, im suprised that no one mention about a media player project.

I hope some one ports over XBMC over to ps3 that would be cool and it's open source...

Xbmc won't happen, unless under Linux

It's simple. The early scene is always dominated by piracy-enabling apps as that's the most high profile. Once it's all settled down the real brews will start and things will actually get interesting.

ps3 media server? It plays almost all my files and they have recently updated to 1.20
