Thanks for PM'ing the video link. The Open Manager that I'm using has a different logo and does not have the 1.0 in the logo. I am also not getting the question to choose whether I want to launch from XMB or from Open Manager directly.
I guess then that the version that I'm using has been compiled by someone else and is not working correctly on my system! I'll try a different version tonight and see what happens! Thanks a lot!!
i will pm you the MU link and the other opm did not work for me either
just tried demons souls it also boots but i get trophy error and amored core 4 screen stays black no freezing
Well, I now have the same binary of OM 1.13 as you and now I do get the question whether I want to exit to XMB or try to boot directly.
Unfortunately when I select to launch via XMB I still get no game graphics in the /app_home/PS3_GAME entry and selecting it still gives the dreaded 80028F14 error. When I try to launch the games directly from OM 1.13 the screen just goes black and my PS3 hangs.
I've tried Motorstorm: Pacific Rift (both from internal HDD and USB) and Burnout Paradise (internal HDD). All same behaviour.
I'll upload InFamous overnight (I only have a Wifi connection to my PS3 at the moment) and see if that works tomorrow. Thanks so far!!

infamou is the only one i got to work other than the error ones
Success! I finally got a game to start through /app_home/PS3_GAME!! I just uncommented the following line in the pfs.sh file (see my earlier post on page 2 of this thread):
I had tried that before, but I replaced it with a different payload (thinking the original /lib/payload.bin was non-functional). Thx to a PM from a board member who told me he got it working using the original payload, and just an uncomment of above line!
cat /lib/payload.bin > /proc/psfreedom/payload
I managed to get Burnout Paradise to show up in /app_home/PS3_GAME. Launching it caused a message to update the game and then my PS3 froze. But I'm stoked to finally have found a way to launch games without a disc in my broken BD drive!!!!!!
Time to test some more stuff!
Paydirt. I managed to succesfully load and play Motorstorm: Pacific Rift! Looks like I finally nailed it. I have no idea what the problem was with the payload inside the android.img.gz. I originally downloaded it from the PSFreedom wiki. I suspect that I can manually insert future payload upgrades inside this android.img.gz because the delivery mechanism seems to be working.
I'm so glad I'll be able to play most of my games again on my PS3 which has been worthless to me since last X-mas when Sony destroyed my BD drive with the 3.0 fw upgrade. Thanks to all who helped and pushed me in the right direction. I will continue to monitor this thread for the foreseable future and will probably update the 1st post with the solution (which worked for me in any case).
glad i could help us broken drive peolpe have to stick together but now your gonna have to help me! lol hey do you think you can pm me a link to the android image and the z image already edited like in MU or something thanks for the help
Sure thing buddy, I just sent you a PM.

Just played a couple of rounds!
I think there's something wrong with the payload as games that are supposed to be working fine according to psjcl, freeze and crash for me also. (At least Dead Rising 2 works :P)
