Jailbreak hack not saving after shutting down console?

so i got my ps3 all setup with jailbreak, i am able to run back ups and stuff, but my problem i am having is that i have to reapply the hack before each time i turn on the ps3. maybe i missed something? im not sure, but i thought the purpose of a jailbreak was to open it up completely. if i have to reapply the hack then it wouldn't be called a jailbreak but rather an exploit, because exploits need to be reapplied in-order to use them again. my iphone was jailbreaked and i don't have to reapply the hack every time i turn it on.


so my question is: how do i fix this?

a little info. i used the ipod nano 1g method, the ipod belongs to my friend so hopefully i can get this resolved.

whatever method you use, the hack needs to be re-applied in every boot...
until a CFW gets released this won't change.

I can see your point, but the security on the PS3 hasn't been completely thwarted. All your doing when you 'jailbreak' your PS3 is activating DEV mode on the console allowing you to emulate the BD drive and execute unsigned code.

The consoles high level security (or level 1 security) is still in place preventing perminent changes to the PS3s operating system.

The originating group refer to this as Jailbreak as a marketing label, because selling dongles called 'PS Partial Jailbreak' doesn't really have the same ring to it.
