iīve been running the first psfreedom on my iphone3g(3.1.2) so far.
i just wanted to give this very interesting zaxtron thing a try but iīm running into some problems:
i copied over the zimage and androidimg and set the permissions to 775 for both.
on the first run it tried to make the psfreedom dir but couldnīt because itīs a "read-only filesystem"...everything after that didnīt work either for the same reason.
when i get to the frontend and try to select anything i get an error message saying it canīt find the firmware file...then it restartds the frontend
how can i fix this?
edit: just read page4 where someone else is having similar problems...
ok, i just created the psfreedom dir in \private\var myself and set permissions to 775. then i copied the relevant stuff in there with filezilla.
zaxtron doesnīt think itīs a "first run" anymore and goes straight to the frontend, where i can selct firmware and payload now.

only thing i still havenīt figured out is how to get zombie mode or any other local splitscreen mode in codbo to work.
edit: tried the jb a couple of times now, sometimes it works fine sometimes i get the "unknown usb device connected" error like 6 times in a row...

Your absolutely right , which can make for an even simpler first time install.

Can somebody please help me? I can't find a direct answer anywhere.
I had a jailbreak working just fine, and of course I had to get greedy.... I wan't the new psn payload :P
I couldn't get any of the straight android.img.gz files to work (they freeze up on the text screen at radio: nvram yadda yadda) so I overwrote those files with the zaxtron files and zaxtron boots up. However, I get the first run encountered message and when I get into the loader there is nothing in the payload or firmware fields.
When I press any button in the loader, it tells me that it can not find a firmware file and it kicks me back to the main front loader screen.
I had to create the directory /private/var/psfreedom/ myself. What goes inside that folder? Should i make it /private/var/psfreedom/3.41? Or do I just put the payloads in ~/psfreedom? And do I have to put a ps3 firmware file in with it? Why do i get that error? I set the permissions to 775 on the psfreedom directory, do I have to do it for the whole iPhone?
I have a 3g running on 3.1.2... like I said, I had it working before and just broke it, so I know that if I found the rght files again I could get it working like it was before with no psn.
Any help would be great, as I'm about to rip out all of my hair.
the folder structure is \private\var\psfreedom\payloads\3.xx\*.bin
you can either create that manually or you can download the pack with payloads on page 1 of this thread(http://www.fileserve.com/file/WX54Guu - (11.4.10)), the folder structure in there is exactly whatīs needed.
