Internal Game Doesn't Load (Details provided)
Internal Game Doesn't Load (Details provided) –
03-07-2011,08:44 PM
Hi, I searched this and many other boards (google) for a problem similar to mine, but this is my last resort, and if i can't fix it here i'm just going to remove the game completely.
Okay I am currently running:
-kmeaw 3.55 CFW
-Gaia Manager 2.07 and latest multiMAN
-/app_home/ps3_game doesn't load, I get error 80028F14 (from what i read, apparently this folder IS supposed to be accessed because some games load from discs and some load diskless, but I can't load with the disc in or without the disc).
Apparently, you are supposed to launch the manager, get a black screen, get back to the XMB, and load from either the disc or that folder, which neither are working...
Please help, the game i am trying to run is Fight Night Champion

Fight Night Champions is one of those 3.56 games from what I've been reading….if you have the EUR version, there is a patch available (thanks Sony for making it so easy to run a newer game on their hated CFW)

As of 1/26/2011:
3.60 Now Live!
PS3 80GB Non-BC >> Waninkoko 3.55 >> Kmeaw 3.55>> Sold!
Sure-fire way to prevent PSN Bans: Update to OFW!

Other people have got it to work on 3.41 and 3.55, and it says the Euro version ISN'T working, but the U.S version is, which is what I have.
Do you also mind explaning why my ps3_home/ps3_game folder doesn't work and gives me an error?

I don't know about that the ps3_game folder on the XMB b/c after a few of my games failed to work discless, i just always used a disc due to higher compatibility…
Hmmm, i thought the EUR version was the WORKING one..oh well, I don't have the game, i was just trying to offer what knowledge I had read on other sites

I can't get the US version to boot without a disc in the drive myself. It and GoW3 will not boot for me without a disc. All my other games work just fine without a disc. In all fairness I only have 12 games and I am not a warez kiddie so I don't have many to test from. I use my PS3 for PS2 games mostly as I am a RPG fan mostly and not to many on the PS3, well not like the PS1/2 days.
PS3 CECH-25001 Rebug 4.41.2 "Lite" 1tb iNt & 2tb eXT mM 4.40.00
Back online thanks to Primee for the legit PSID!!

I tried replacing the EBOOT.BIN file in there and it still does not work, I think if I can access that folder (app_home/ps3_game/) then perhaps I will fix everything and finally play this game.

Well some games absolutely require a disc in the drive to work. I have never had any trouble booting any game discless except this game I got on Tuesday and GoW3, every other game I have tried works without a disc. And I don't know that any program will allow you to boot it discless but you can try to put it on an external and try the BSD game fix in Multiman and maybe have some luck that way. I had to do this to get Tomb Raider to work from my HDD as my wife was forced playing it from disc till this option was available.
Not sure if it will help but it wont hurt to try unless you don't have an external USB device. Like I said you can rip it to USB or just transfer the already ripped image to your USB device. Or if you did rip from original I have had problems not sure the number before as it was a while back before I replaced my laser but fresh rip of the game fixed it. Hope you get it sorted, my child goes to bed within the hour and I will fish out my 40gb with a crapped out bluray ad see if I can get it to boot to help you out. We just have a rule between my wife and I no games while the kid is awake.
So I will check back in a few and report my findings.

Well, I tried loading it with a disc in it, and it still doesn't work, I've tried 2 discs, COD:WAW and Fight Night Round 4 (Just for good luck, haha). No, it still doesn't work even with discs in it, I've tried both Multiman, and 3 DIFFERENT versions of Gaia Manager, the original backup manager gives me error 80029519.

Try backing up the game from disk again. It sounds like you got a bad rip.

YES!
I fixed it! Okay, here is what I did
I reset the PS3 (from the back, hit the switch, I have a FAT PS3)
Launched Blackb0x FTP
Moved the Game to the GAMEZ Folder, replaced the modified EBOOT with the original EBOOT (Kmeaw 3.55 does not need modified EBOOTS, DO NOT EDIT EBOOTS IF YOU HAVE KMEAW).
Launched the game with GAIA Manager, which it finally recognized the game, but it gave a black screen shortly after I hit the X button. (MultiMAN doesn't work).
I launched the LVL 2 fix, The Permissions Fix and the Fight Night Champion fix provided by ANiMeX and launched the game again and now it works like a charm.

That is the link for the fix, hopefully someone who has this problem reads this and fixes it faster then I did.
