Infamous patch

Isn't it possible to copy the infamous patch from someone who has it and put in in a jailbroken ps3 using the ftp tool?

I wouldn't mind trying if someone can give me the file/files and where they are within the folder

not gonna work. the device has to glitch the bus and subsequently inject code in order to put it into dev mode (at least for now).

After booting in dev mode and starting the ftp server can't we just copy the files from the patch? It shouldn't be hard to find i guess

i misunderstood your first post (again!, been a long morning!), i thought you were trying to jailbreak a ps3 without having a dongle.

i guess the question is, if you have the dongle, why are you even trying to do this? just stick it into the other ps3 and voila, you are jailbroken on both consoles!

Let me try to explain it more clearly.

The infamous release that has been around the internet for a while is the european.
However it only lets the game use french as a language option.
An official patch was release to fix that, but with a jailbroken ps3 (and therefore no internet as of firmware 3.42) you can't download the patch.

If someone with both a jailbroken ps3 and the original game patched can install the FTP server and copy the patched files maybe those same files can be copied to another jailbroken ps3 to "patch" the game
