God of war 3 wont play under ps3_game, needs disc in drive..

it means what it says. if the game wont play without a disc, it needs a disc and will launch from dev_bdvd (aka disc icon). if it works without a disc, it can be launched from app_home with no disc inserted.

thanks for the info. the difference between the two hexes is very very minor so its no suprise just wanted to make sure.

Is it correct that say the diff is only in the CODE_START offset (MCHPHID=0x1000, MCHPUSB=0x800)

Dude,

I have read through your post and it explains everything quiet well, but before I flash I just want to check that I am grabbing the right hex.
I am currently using

PSGrooPIC1.6d_wMCHBTL_FW3.41_LEDB1_nmclr-nlvp_20MHz

So I d/l'ed PSGrooPIC-iLLNESS-1.0a-3.41_18Fxxxx-LEDB145C0-C1-BTLDR.zip
which is the main.hex.

Then do I have to update the bootloader, ie run WinPIC

I am happy once I have the compiled hex, i just the updating the bootloader part I am confused about.

You dont have to do anything to the hex's.. dont touch em just program it and it should work perfectly..

iLLNESS, hi, can you do to us a big favor? KaKaRoTo has released a new PSGroove payload (without the mess) with a new syscall. Can you compile it? I upload the source.

ive already been looking into it. but it appears to be broken for the time being. waiting on kakaroto to update his git.
