anyone having issues flashing my usbhid hex please re-read the service mode hexes post. i have linked an app that should be able to flash it.

not sure why the official microchip usb hid bootloader app wont flash it properly.

Does the downgrade firmware always turn the console off after jig it for service mode? Either the ps3break one or the one compiled using Noltari's source code, some console will turn off, some will not(basically 2 phat one go off, 1 slim not, needs to reboot to see the service mode);

ok I tested it on my own console first, but how do I get it out of service mode w/o upgrading or downgrading?

+ I am wondering also how to get rid off factory/service without downgrading/upgrading....

Try reading posts, i would say this is how to do it:

How to exit service mode
9. Copy "Lv2diag.self" from "Step 2" folder to your FAT32 formatted USB Pen drive, the usb drive must be clean without any other files
10. insert it to the last USB Port, (the 2nd or the 4th, depends on your System), power it on
11. Wait until the System shuts down

from what i see it should always turn off after the jig does its thing.

i havent tested it on my slim and wont likely test it until this bdrom movie thing is sorted. i dont want to risk messing it up since my ps3 is at 3.50 and i dont want to lose my gt5 save due to the hdd being formatted.

i went ahead and tested the official psgrade code (teensy2.0++) on my 320gb slim and it does the same thing. the problem exists in the psgrade code.

the solution is to keep trying it took 4 attempts before i got into service mode. hope this helps. i will look into getting it fixed.

I got the picdem here PS3 Downgrade for PIC18F (ZBN Modules) with a Guide Arrives - PS3 NEWS - PlayStation 3 News - PS3 Forums . It worked for me the first time i flash it. I tried the psgrade you made 2 times...both failed.

Yep, my hex for picdem works first time... PSGradePIC seems problematic...

noltari has commited a fix:

Fixed Port 1 Device Descriptor. Should fix "random" working issues.

ill compile it and see if it fixes the issue.
