I got a question

sooooo a lot of people are saying that ofw 3.60+ to cfw will not happen, but correct me if im wrong please, but didnt kakarotoks create one that he never released because he could not get pkgs to run or install i forget which one it was. so my question is, if kakarotoks were to release his work then could it be more likely that ofw 3.60+ will get to cfw without downgrading.

i am a noob to this site as a member, even tho i have been coming here regularly since january, but i could have gotten the place to post this wrong so feel free to move it :3

I'm pretty sure that his HybridFW needed to be installed on 3.55 like the CFW's we have now

Oh i didnt realize this, i thought you didnt need to be on 3.55 since he said it worked on 4.00 when 4.00 first came out

Actually, I think he found a method to install software on 3.55+ firmware. There was just no way to run them.

that is also what i though, so here is my question again, IF he decides to release the method he used would someone make a cfw for people on 3.60+ that can run the pkgs?

Possibly, so long there are no app white lists in the newer firmwares.

ah, good :D so there is more hope then most people say :3 now its time to play the waiting game while someone figures out the exploit or kakarotoks reveals his method

There was quite a bit of speculation going on when this thing was in the news. Installing content can be done probably in a few ways. You could do a DNS/Proxy hack to trick your PS3 installing content from a spoofed PSN. You could probably hack into the backup file created by the official system backup tool as well.

to tell you the truth im not smart enough to figure out an exploit -__- but the spoofed psn thing sounds like it could work
