The only advantage they had over the slim was the PS2 back compat (not in 40Gb model) and otheros with firmware 3.15 or less.

Yeah you will have a switch on the back, but you should be using a surge protector on such expensive hardware anyway, so not really.
Now if it were Backwards Compatible fat, that would definitely be a bonus.

The ps3 with backwards compability was the first one right? The guy that is sold me the ps3 he told me that he bought it when the first ps3 slim was on stores so i really doubt that it has backwards compability.

The fat ps3 stays warmer in the winter. The downside is that it has high blood pressure.

He's trying to say that the fat ps3s have overheating issue And suffer from the yellow light of death frequently As compared to the slims. And it touch sensitive buttons are to something else to tear up. Not a big fan of the fat playstation 3s except to play older games but your model doesn't have this feature and besides ps2s are a dime a dozen and chips are under$ 20 nowadays.

The biggest advantage the "Phat" has is it's athestic value. I personally think it looks nicer than the Slim model. I do wish they kept the chrome bezel from the 60GB launch model on the newer Phats though. I have a 60GB and I love it.

In any case, congrats on your purchase and welcome to the community

I just bought another fat ps3 today also with 3.30 firmware. The 60gb model with 4 USB ports and backwards compatibility and 7 games for $150. Really lucked out on this find.
