Sorry if this has been covered.
I've been trying to do this tonight, and when I put my ipod into recovery mode, and checked in VM, it was down as not being connected. If I told it to connect, I got an error message, saying it couldn't connect as the ipod (in recovery mode) was already in use. What have I done wrong, hopefully its something simple to fix.
Try quitting Vmware (shut down all virtual machines) then try again. Also make sure iTunes is closed. That worked for me

are you guys using the quick installation from the wiki page? That work ok for most people?
I'm guessing it just installs android (and the ps freedom files) and that the iphone will work normally. Will that require a restore or will it erase any data or anything? Thanks.

Would it be possible to just mount the ipod from windows, and just do the necessary steps through ubuntu through networking? or possibly through ssh?
