i would suggest to restore the phone to stock firmware 3.1.2 or 4.0 then jailbreak it again. then take the 2 files that are supposed to be copied over after you isntall openiboot and put them in the resources folder under iphodroid then do 'shoot'. it will install openiboot and it will just load the psfreedom perfectly without issues.

Problem with Ubuntu Removable Device!!
Problem with Ubuntu Removable Device!! –
Hello, I am having a problem following the tutorial. I am using an ipod touch 1g, 3.1.2, jailbroken with blackra1n. I have got to the point where i need to connect the removable device (itouch) in vmware player, but it is not showing up. No usb device, or ipod touch device is showing up in the list. I have connected the itouch in recovery mode. I am following the instructions, click on virtual machine, then removable devices, but nothing is there. If someone may please help me, any help is appreciated. thank you in advance.
im stuck. i turn on the power, press eject and all that but only my ipod it just says
"usb state change: 1 =>1"
"usb state change: 1 =>3"
Are we able to backup to the internal Hd yet. I have been trying to run backup manager to my internal drive and every time I try to launch a backup it freezes. Is it only working on external drives at this time?
How do I get the iPod Touch 1g to show up in removable devices in VMWare Player? Somebody please help me?
I am running this in Vista, and the iPod is in Recovery mode! Any help is appreciated.
I have used the iphone 2G to jailbreak seems it was work as there is the *\app_home\PS3_game and *\install package file folder in the XMB. However, I have saved a manager.pkg to the root of an usb stick and insert to my Fat PS3, nothing show up in the *\install package file folder. anyone help? thanks

- launched iphodroid again and clicked on the "exit recovery mode" to get my phone functional again.
- restored my phone to a fresh 3.1.2 firmware
- jailbroke with redsn0w 0.9.2
- launched cydia and let it update and so
- installed openssh on the phone
- downloaded the latest iphodroid (with PSFreedom included) from psfreedom[dot]com/wiki/IPhoneLinux. I ended up with "iPhoDroid_R13m_2G" version as I have a 2G Iphone
- extracted it a the very root of one of my drives (I believe it must not be placed in a folder that has spaces or special characters)
- launched iphodroid ant clicked on the "shoot" button
- after the process the phone rebooted in recovery mode and like 2 seconds after I got the openIboot screen
- unplugged the phone from computer
- pushed the power button on the phone to navigate to the "install" command on the lower left of the screen and pushed the home button to launch it
At this point I had openiboot installed on my phone. I don't remember if PSFreedom was launched automatically afterward or not. All I know is that if I want to jailbreak my PS3, I have to boot the phone, then push the power button once to choose Android at ipenIboot screen, and launch it with home button. At this point the exploit will load and display the bunch of "INIT" lines. I then follow the standard procedure and unplug-replug the phone as soon as the line saying that the console did not recognize the PSFreedom gadget appears, as I have a slim PS3. To stop the phone I just push the home and power button to reboot and land on the openIBoot screen. Then I choose AppleOS, wait for it to start and turn off the device (it's quite annoying to have to reboot the phone to be able to switch if off). Note that your phone will be in recovery mode the first time you launch IOS after the iBoot installation. You have to use iphoDroid with the "exit recovery mode" button to fix that.
Hope this helps
