How to install PSfreedom on iPod touch 1G

ok I got everything working right now. Just copying a game over to the hard drive now. So what's the eta on this jailbreak working with backup manager? As well what will make this work, is it just going to be a new backup manager file or will we have to redo the whole iboot process again? Thanks for all the help

I would have thought they will just modify the 2 files we ftp'd over so it will be just a case of overwriting the 2 files and doing the 777 thing again.

Right, im on 3.42 is there anyway to downgrade to 3.41 or is there a way to do this with 3.42?

Also, is this the same as jailbreaking the ps3 with blackcat usb?

I've managed to get it working now.
Now the ps3 just gives a black screen with "can't access tty job control turned off" on the touch.

I got the same problem:
1. Power cycle PS3
2. Attach ipod touch and start android
3. Wait for initrd or scrolling INIT (i tried both)
4. Do power / eject within 1 second
5. It gets to thse 6 lines you see in the videos
6. PS3 menu shws and i get "Unknown USB Device" a few times
7. iPod Touch goes on scrolling lots of text until i get "/bin/sh: can't access tty job control turned off"

What am i doing wrong?

For the record: using a PAL PS3 Slim and iPod Touch 1G

i had this same.


you have to turn off console by power cable. than plug your ipod into usb. run android, plug power cable to ps3. wait for "init" text on your ipod and now:

press quickly power on ps3 and after quickly eject. wait.... and that's all

i have ps3 slim and i pod touch 1g, too

hey guys been really pulling me hair out !!!!!!!

1) i had openiboot install on to ipod touch
2) had to restore back to 3.1.2 firmware
3) jailbreaked it with blackra1n again
4) from cydia installed open ssh
5) downloaded openiboot for ipod touch 1g
6) in terminal i type ./loadibec openiboot.img3
7) openiboot appears on ipod touch
8) navigate to the console icon with the sleep button
9) hit the home button on the console icon
10) ipod touch starts to scroll the text but get stuck on "restore scanning virtual blocks"

i have tried to restore iphone back to 3.1.2 and re jailbreaked it 2/3 times and every time i get to the terminal bit it frezzes at that point !!! weird thing is i had it workin on there before use excatly the same method ??? any more suggestions ?? i am thinking because i had openiboot on there before a restore from itunes is not deleting all the openiboot stuff ???

It's not frozen. Basically because you didn't shut down properly before (Could of been at any point with openiboot, linux or android) it needs to scan for bad blocks. Now you can leave it running and wait for hours (My empty 32gig iPod would take about 4-5 hours to run through the process) or you can fill your iPod with as much data as you can. The less free space you have the quicker the scan will go.

I just filled my iPod with video files over USB using TotalCommander. But iPhoneExplorer or any of them will do the job fine. Now with 700mb free that process takes about 30 seconds.
