How do i unhack my ps3?

I want to go to 3.56 OFW since killzone 3 comes out next week, and i want to play online. And since there is no sign of a real 3.56 cfw, and the fact that there seems to be no way of connecting to psn of 3.55 kmeaw. Is there an easy way to do this without having to format my ps3 hard drive?

you can do the dns trick to get online in 3.55 cfw, it still works...

i'd say delete all the games you've installed, then delete the hombrew. Then install official 3.55fw. then from there update to 3.56 from psn.

I heard (not sure) you can get a brick if you go from 3.55 CFW to 3.56 OFW. I would do this just to be 100% safe:

Download Sony's Official 3.55 - [Link]

Go from 3.55 CFW to 3.55 OFW in recovery mode. Then upgrade to 3.56 via XMB. Sony made a 3.56v2 because 3.56 screwed up everyone's PS3 and wouldn't let them use a different hard drive. Some people still say that they can't use their laptop hard drive or w/e. I say you should stay on CFW because I don't think you'll be able to turn back any time soon.

And Killzone 3 has been leaked (illegal, though). Tbh you'd have to be really desperate to go to 3.56 OFW.

i would say "upgrade dumass" but sony is to devious to let u get away with something even if you wanna unhack it, remove all homebrew, dl games, etc from the ps3, clean install 3.55 ofw from recovery mode thn update 3.56 thru XMB, thts the safest method, thts what i would do

Has the OP thought about the fact that, if he wants to tinker with his PS3 again, he will probably have to buy a NEW UNIT?

No downgrade seems do-able now or in the immediate future.

Why not just wait, don`t upgrade and look for a cheap second console?
