Help psgroopic type problems

Hi i recently bought a pre built pic18f2550 pcb jailbreak device with bootloader just needing usb lead soldering on, so after i finished it i plugged into usb and it searches for drivers and instantly says device unplugged, then it start over again and again. Any ideas???

Also should i test d- and d+ the other way round will this make it worse or is it worth testing without destroying the chip and bootloader?

I'm not seeing a crystal or resonator anywhere on that board, it'll need one to work.

Hi sorry it on the under side of board it is there. any other ideas?
