Hi My Friend Has A PS3 That He Cannot Install CFW On Because Of The PS3 He's Got So He Is On 3.41 And Using My Dongle To Jailbreak It, So I Was Wondering Given What We Know Now Can Someone Not Create A Hex File For A Minimus v1 So He Can Install 3.55 OFW And Use The Dongle To Jailbreak That Instead Of 3.41 I Would Really Appreciate It Thanks.

If he is on 3.41.......why is it that he can not do 3.55 CFW?????

Kmeaw and multiMAN will work on ANY PS3!

Sooooo, what makes this one so special?

Furthermore, no dongle, minimus, etc, etc, etc.... is needed. Simply flash it to 3.55 OFW, flash again with Kmeaw and add whatever backup manager (multiMAN being widely recognized as the best current BM) and have fun!

His PS3 If I Remember Is A 60Gb CECHKK03 Or Something To That Effect And Im Sure You Cant Jailbreak It From What I Remember Also A Dongle Would Be Much Safer After All Not All Of Us Can Afford To Brick Our PS3s..

You are most likley thinking about the waninkoko cfw that botched alot of fat PS3´s (the CECHK* should be fine with it though) but still; Go with kmeaw and you are set...

Unless he downgraded from 3.55 to 3.41 (which caused not being able to upgrade to 3.55, but has a fix) then he most definitely can upgrade to KMEAW 3.55 CFW (or REBUG) without any problems and very little chance of a brick (same as OFW, which has caused many bricks)

Edit: but the above poster is right, he will most definitely want to stay away from Waninkoko CFW v1 (check the sig) but I would suggest staying away from v2 also (incorporated payload was just a bad idea)

Don't know why I wasn't able to remember the Waninkoko name last night.

I figured that is the reason he thought it couldn't have CFW on it, but couldn't remember his name (a little drunkness was going on at the time

).

My PS3 is also one of the 256 meg consoles that would have bricked on the Wan CFW. Luckily, I had already done Kmeaw.

I downgraded from 3.55 to 3.41 with a dongle, an then upgraded to 3.55 official via usb an then Kmeaw CFW with ease....
