I've got Fallout 3 GOTY on my PS3, backed up via Backup Manager, and when I launch it I find it takes a good few minutes to load a saved game. If I load the game from disc, it takes only a few seconds. I've switched from PS Groove 1.1 to Hermes V3 and back and it makes no difference. It's mentioned that loading times are longer on Fallout 3 on the compatibility list so I know it's not my console. I assume they're talking about saved game loading times as actual data loading times seem to be the same. But does anyone know of a fix for this? Or if it's likely to be fixable by a groove upgrade? It's kind of annoying as I play Fallout 3 to death. And presumably since they use the same engine, this may affect Fallout New Vegas.

I've also done the usual thing of deleting all non-backup Fallout 3 content on the drive and starting again, no joy.

I tried running it from USB, and it worked fine. From HDD, still slow to load. I then got the very latest version of Open Manager, and it worked fine in patch mode. Not sure why that's needed, but it seems to have fixed it for now.

I have this same issue, was just searching for the solution. I'll try Patch Mode and see if that helps me.

I'll update this post when I find out.

Thanks for the suggestion, by the way, I always forget about Patch Mode because I only have to use it for EyePet, lol.

UPDATE: Works like a charm, thanks so much!!
