ok guys im having some problems getting my external hard drive to work.
My fat32 external hard drive shows up on the playstation under photos/videos etc, however it wont show up in the back up manager.
Why is this and what have i done wrong?
there is nothing on the harddrive but a folder called GAMEZ then subfolders like BLJS10045 with the games in them.
any ideas?

Hmm...You sure have all the files? And you say you have different games that you are testing?
Not quite sure why it wouldn't work...
So your file system looks like
GAMEZ/BLJS10045/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN
?

When you formatted your hard drive, did you format as a logical partition or a primary partition?
I did mine as a primary partition and haven't had an issue.
Also, the backup manager will create the file/folder structure, so you don't need to "prepare" your hard drive before dumping a game.
Good Luck.

Should be /Gamez not /GAMEZ
Linux is case sensitive, and backup manager I would assume only looks for one path, ie. /Gamez

The Backup Manager creates the folder "/GAMEZ"

I stand corrected. Always thought the other way.
