External Hard Drive

OK so I have my external hard drive in FAT32 format but when I go to backup manager to backup a game it doesn't give me the option to backup to external hard drive only internal. What folders do I need? I have PS3, Photo, Video and Game. Am I missing something? any idea what I can do to make this work on an external hard drive?

Is the PS3 seeing the hard drive when you are not in back up manager? If it is not then i would just reformat.

you have to have a GAMEZ folder in the root of the drive i believe, not just game

you cant back up from external to internal as of yet the whole point is it is on the external so it is backed up. you can ftp it across from pc but takes a while.
this is the file path you should put the game in anyway (make sure it on root of hdd)
Gamez/"game name e.g. Infamous"/Then here should be the 2 folders ps3_game ps3_game and a ps3_disc file

I've tried FTPing a few games to my PS3, but I can't see them in my Backup Manager.
I've tried putting the game in various folders. The game itself would for example be King of fighters, called BLJS10045 when extracted.

/dev_hdd0/Gamez/BLJS10045
/dev_hdd0/game/BLJS10045
/dev_hdd0/game/Gamez/BLJS10045

None of these have worked for me. Am I supposed to put the game in /Gamez/BLJS10045 ? Is that even possible, since dev_hdd0 looks like a mounted HDD and anything outside of that would be some internal memory?

Oh, and if it makes any difference, I've used the HTC Dream hack.

/dev_hdd0 is a mount point on the internal hard drive within the PS3.

Do you have the "patched" version of PSGroove for the HTC?

Sorry I don't know where it's located either. Most of the original releases for new devices were the "unpatched" version.

I hope you find what you're looking for.

I have a working solution now that I got from someone else. The games are to be put in the following folder:
/dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/

That way, backup manager will find it. I tried and it seemed to work.
