Estimate of when Jailbreak will work online??
Estimate of when Jailbreak will work online?? –

So do you guys envision some way of being able to play online with the jailbreak sometime in the future?? Is it possible to play an xbox360 online with a backup?? Maybe a way for modded users to play each other outside of PSN?
I know 1st hand that its possible to play Wii backups online, don't know the technical details but never had a problem getting banned or anything.
Just bought a PS3 because of the jailbreak 8 days ago and played Madden online a couple times before 3.42 hit......now I want to play but haven't even turned on the PS3 because I hate playing the computer. Without the ability to play online the jailbreak isn't really beneficial to me except for the few times a year when my brother visits.
Really jonesin to update, but also realize how long this jailbreak took in the 1st place so a way into 3.42+ could take a long while. I've got another 22 days to return it so I've been going back and forth on whether to update it and then return it and hope someone finds a way to play online soon and pick up another older/pre-3.42 unit.

The more people that use it, the better of course. Although I'm not an online player myself.

As above xlinkkai, but some games are not supported, you don't get many people on, MW2 has a maximum of 18 players, but your lucky to get 6 on the xbox and the lag is a pain. It's no comparison to xbox live.
If they do crack 3.42 and future firmware updates, Sony will just start banning people from PSN. The jtag xbox hack which is similar to this gets you banned within hours on xbox live. They turn a blind eye to the drive flashers and just have ban waves every year around October time, last year 1 million were banned. This i think they have accepted and decided it generates new console sales.
Your best solution is to have 2 PS3's, one for homebrew and one for PSN.As you have said you prefer online play so just use your machine for that.

I would use Xlinkkai but I don't think anyone will be even on it, there weren't many people on when I tried with XBOX about 7 years ago.

Just checked 18 supported games for PS3, Madden aint one of them. 0 people online.
Only games that have system link support work.
