I know it's a crazy idea, but since it's been able to work on PC and now that the PS3 is completely open i see no reason why it couldn't get support for it right?

Honestly it could be a neat thing to be able to run Homebrews with Kinect on the PS3 itself.
I can see someone porting some drivers over or something into PS3 Linux, or hell even patch it in a CFW.

it's hard to port the kinect to ps3. The only thing that kinect works with PC is because xbox and windows have a somewhat smilar os than the ps3.

    On asbestos, yes.
On gameos, maybe, but it's far more difficult.
STOP! Before you ask questions... READ the first post! RTFFP = Read The F*cking First Post
Yes, A 3.55 "jb" (cfw) is available, no >3.55 "jb" or cfw yet.
Yes, A 3.55 downgrade is available. But not to lower than stock firmware! (What it came with)
No >3.55 downgrade is out there yet.

Im pretty sure that is true for the first XBOX but not the 360.

OK this is speculation coz I havent read enough on it..
1st step is a driver so the PS3 actually acknowledges the hardware is there.
2nd step write functions for it to the SDK

I think you would then find Sony laughing and not sueing the people who made it but rather Microsoft being the severely pissed off party.

in development for a game a 360 is more easier because it is like the PC.
But i am quite sure it will be possible, maybe hard but if someone is up to the task it will happen

It would be possible to support in homebrew apps most likely. But it's unlikely you'll ever be able to use it for anything official.
