well if you are able to install other pkg via Install Package like patches or fixes or updates etc. and not able to install multiMAN then i think your multiMAN got corrupted somehow try to download it again and try out .

if its failed it again then i think you should reinstall CFW 3.55 kmeaw or Rogerob CFW or Rebug CFW search for it in this forum .

Could be a Geohot version of CFW 3.55. Like amp2006 says, install KMEAW CFW 3.55 first and make sure you confirm SHA1 & MD5 of the PUP you download before installing it or else it could be a fake CFW.

FYI, Comgenie is a file manager that allows you to browse the internal files of your PS3. You don't use it to play your backed up games. To do so you will need to use multiMAN or IRis Manager.

Okay . got it on kmaew and installed newest multiman .now how do i play backups off external hdd?

you copy Games to a folder on External HDD name it GAMEZ or GAMES and then you gunna play it via multiMAN .
