I'm wondering, with all these updates will I have to reflash my board and reapply the jailbreak process then reinstall the backup manager?

I'm wondering about this as well. I bought a radioshack project enclosure that screws shut, and I can imagine it being a hassle to unscrew the enclosure every time I need to reflash the chip (especially since updates happen so rapidly). My understanding is that you would need to reflash for a new payload, but that the backup manager wouldn't need to be reinstalled (you can just put it on a USB thumbdrive anyway, so that wouldn't be much of a hassle to reinstall). I could be wrong though.

Ordered mine on 17th. Got shipped on 18th. Still wait for it to arrive in Texas.
One question, when the new backup manager come out, can we uninstall the old version?

From what I have read the new version simply overwrites the old version, in a sense un-installing it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

    AKA.
    1.5 source
    PIC18F2455 and compatible chips
    12mhz oscillator
NOLVP and NOMCLR (dont need the 10kohm resistors for pullup/pulldowns)
    LED output on RB1
    BOOTLOADER compatible.

From now on, I think im only going to post bootloader compatible hexes unless otherwise requested in the irc chat room in my signature. As MetalPhreak has stated before, there is way too many boards out there with different settings. I STRONGLY suggest people put a bootloader on their PIC. It makes life alot easier for everyone including yourself. This way if we feel like it we can post a hex for each board with each led setting rather then 50 different variations of each.

If you do not have a 12mhz oscillator, or need LVP or MCLR, you can still use this hex just hit CANCEL when loading in PDFUSB. it will ignore the config settings in these hexes and retain whatever settings are already flashed in the bootloader.

So please, make life easier for us and program your bootloader according to how you want. This way, we dont need to post hexes for every frequency required, etc.

This hex was posted by request.

follow this guide but read it carefully:

    http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=720653

if you use the new files let us know if they work ok, as from what i'm reading people are having problems with them.

    still waiting for my board.

brought a Xecuter-HDXT-PS3-Hard-Drive-Xtender but when i opened my ps3 up my HD slides straight in and not sideways.
