Can't backup to internal drive?!
Can't backup to internal drive?! –

Hi All,
Built a not so pretty 18F4550 based jailbreak today. Programmed up and can get the new 'install packages' menu etc. no problem. I've using a PSGrooPIC-V1.3 firmware from Metalfreak.
When I run the backup manager (EU_stealth_PS3Hax_BackupManager.pkg 516K) it will only rip to external disks (in this case a USB thumbdrive which I used to install the manager. I've tried a number of titles and none rip to the internal drive.
I cleared a load of space off (got most of my 40GB free again). Any ideas?
I know its not free space as I can tell it to rip Gran Turismo to a 1GB memory key and it just fails part way through with the FWRITE FAIL. This just lets me press X to backup and then goes back to the manager menu without ever showing the bar etc. I tried another hard disk in there too (a 160GB) which it saw and formatted no problem but still couldnt rip to the internal.
help!!!

Your answer is in the question my friend
Stealth Backup Manager are known to cause problems exactly like this. You need to use the original non patched one and you'll be fine

Any idea of a link or point me in the right direction for a download? (sounds noob but I've done some searching already!)

we're not allowed to post backup manager because it's illegal. Just google 'Backup Manager'.

;-) nudge nudge, wink wink , say no more!
no problem.
for the record. I used a 20mhz resonator (its a 20mhz xtal with 2x 30pf caps inside) was perfect (never drops out or fails so far). I dare say you could do away with the led, switch etc. and it would still run (and it might fit in a USB key housing!)
I wonder if the actual firmware will change much or whether it will just be better 'backup managers' and software that will change. the hardware does its job after all.
