I'm trying to figure out what payload files I should put into use on my 3.50 > 3.41 downgraded system. I have managed to find quite a few floating around but I am not sure what will prove to be the most versatile (3.50 Spoof, H v4B, PL3 No AUTH, etc) if you guys could point me in the right direction I would be greatful.
I failed to realize something when I posted this question, and that was the backup manager being used affects a payloads overall functionality (correct?) That being said I am using Open Manager 2.1I-2 OMAN46756 (UP0001-OMAN46756_00-0000111122223333.pkg) Should I be looking into another backup manager to get the most out of my payloads?

The backup manager your using is fine. I haven't used that manager, but unless you run into a problem, I don't see a reason to change.
For payloads, there's no reason to use any of the spoof to 3.50 or PSN payloads, as they were patched by Sony. It's best just to stick to hermes v4b or PL3. Theres numerous versions of PL3, iLLNESS posted this:
# NUS has new no_unauth_syscall: A payload that disables the patch for unauthorized syscalls. This is equivalent to the 'patched mode' of hermes payloads. If you have problems with this NUS PL3 please try using the pkg file located here to fix file permissions so this PL3 can access it.
# dev_payload is like normal default_payload but has peek/poke
# default_payload is recommended for most all users. Use only other payloads if you know what they are for.
So if you want to use PL3, just use the default payload. You may run into problems with the others, and you really don't have a use for it. So depending on your device, find a hex for regular hermes v4b, or the default payload for PL3, and you'll be in business. If you have used hermes v4b, and want to switch to PL3, you may need to run the fix-permissions pkg you can find on these forums, to fix a few things needed to switch payloads. If there's an update to a payload that adds a major feature or improves compatibility, you'll see a front news post about it.
