    I would go with kmeaw. I have never seen a brick report. It can install unsigned + signed packages, and allows you to run [some] games without a Blu-ray disk in the drive. It's really easy to install. Put on flash drive, go to recovery mode, and install. As for the backup manager, GAIA or Multiman. Both work well.

    everyone seems to like kmeaw and multiman combo ive had wutangrza+geohot and gaia 2.06 on mine from the start and havent had a major issue other than the occasional game that wont load from the external hdd but in those cases they all work on the internal hdd. I guess its just your own pref the only one you need to be weary of is wanns v1 cfw which caused a shitload of bricks on certain fat ps3s. right outta the box a brand new slim should install kmeaw or the one i use or mfw without a issue tho from what ive seen.

    mfw = modified firmware.

    Yes, you can even make your own however, if you have to ask how to do it, it's not for you.

    I use Kmeaw and Gaia. Multiman looks..clustered to me, Gaia just has a simple and clean interface.

    Waninkoko v2 + Rogero for me. Tried pretty much all the other Backup Managers and encountered some kind of problem with each of them, never had an issue with Rogero.

    if you're afraid to mess things up you can check here for some useful info plus the "ready to install" pack

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/f118/cfw...ll-pack-77294/ (CFW kmeaw + OFW 3.55 + GAIA 2.05 ready to install pack)

    as for my choices: Kmeaw + Rogero 8.0/Gaia 2.07

    Rogero's menu seems a bit slow if you enable some cosmetic features like background and/or animated icons but it do the job pretty well imo

    cheers

    Absolutely without a doubt...Kmeaw CFW 3.55 and Multiman 1.15.03 (I prefer this version as the newest stripped the bluray mount option..so I have read).

    well, again i have to thank you all, i think the decision for the cfw is taken, i'm going for kmeaw.. now i have to decide for the backup manager, i saw there are many variety of opinions, what do you think is better, to have the payload integrated in the backup manager? or not?
