Backup Manager w/out Disc Check?
Backup Manager w/out Disc Check? –

Anyone know if there is any method to run a game backup with out the initial disc check? I just jailbroke my old PS3 (via PSFreedom & Palm Pre) that has a non working blu ray drive I've been using for a media player in the bedroom and would like to play my backups on it.

Not at the moment. Might be a while before we see anything like that. The PS3 scene is still very young and we have to learn to crawl before we can walk.
Visit store.brewology.com often for up to date HomeBrew downloads.

Yeah that's what I figured.
I just took apart my PS3 and cleaned the laser but it still won't read any discs. I'm thinking I'll just replace the laser. I've read it's only like $40 and now that I know how to take it apart etc it should be rather easy.

Does the disc actually get spun at any time other than when it's running the disk check? So it's not being accessed during the game?

It stops spinning during games, saving us our lasers and discs (even moreso for me as I'm using a Offical PlayStation mag demo
).

Does your DVD laser still work. Like can you pop in a DVD or DVD+R and it reads it? Cause I can boots games without a Blu-ray disk but you need to be able to read dvd's for it to work I think.
