3.50 firmware –
my kid update the ps3 to 3.50 now I can do the jailbreak anymore, is there any new jailbreak for 350 out yet because I saw on youtube there are some but i don't know if it real. ty
Do you really think there is a new jb? Wouldn't you have read it here?
Damn that's terrible. Your only hope of using jailbreak is purchasing another PS3 with firmware 3.41 or earlier. The people 'releasing' a jailbreak for 350 never even clarified which firmware they were working on. In short, there statements are extremely vague and left to interpretation.

this might be a daft question
but is the firmware stored on the HDD of the ps3 or the ps3?
only reason i ask i just put a new hd in my ps3 yesterday and had to install teh 3.41 firmware first
so if its stored on the hd could you not just put a new hd in and then install the ps3
i know you can reformat the hd but may be it does not wide all the info when you do this and a new hd has nothing on it
soz if this is a daft question but i all new to this ps3 scene
Firmware by definition is stored on the hardware itself.

ty for all the reply, it nice to know. Hope they can jb firmware 3.50.
Yeah actually there is. Infectus is the only way to Downgrade a ps3
2.20 and lower firmware only.

as the infectus came out some time back the ps3 was only on them firms 2.20 and lower
we need to look into this if this is the case
After 2.20 (i actually think it was earlier like 2.16 rings a bell) sony used something similair to xbox360 efuses , so when you tried to use a previous dump of nand/s firmware it wont work. But im pretty sure you could atleast go back to the current firmware providing you had dumped it before trying to flash an older firmware. It was a long time ago so my memory of it is fuzzy, but I do remember how unreliable the dumping procedure was, especially if your ps3 had dual nands.
